Toyota Motor Corp and its joint ventures in China recorded a 23.5% increase in sales in January, compared to January the previous year. Recorded during January 2013, Toyota managed to sell as many as 72 500 units of the car.
When compared with December 2012, sales fell 15.9% in January 2012. Keep in mind, Japanese car sales in China fell sharply after the advent of anti-Japanese actions in China that occurred last September 2012.

This year, Toyota is targeting sales of 900,000 units in China, up 7.1% from 2012.
