Culture Capital

Capital is very close to the money, so sometimes we forget that there are many things that can be used as capital to promote the progress and growth, in addition to money. From the example above, we can see clearly the cultural capital or the capital which creates a powerful advantage, but it also needs to be managed and can not be treated "taken for granted". In fact, more and more organizations are willing to invest to strengthen the equipment and systems, but not sincere working on strengthening the culture. Let's count how great a loss that arises when we are not serious about strengthening the culture. Imagine how the inherited culture of discipline can wear off Dutch colonizers. Imagine if we allow the culture of corruption, undisciplined traffic, bribing, and even our own commented, "This is our culture now.". Realize when we let this continue to grow, our country could lose respect, do not even have anything more to be "sold"?

Starting from the "State of Mind"

In a hotel, in addition to the hospitality shown front-liner, the company implemented a culture of 'dress for success'. This is only a small aspect of all the aspects that play a role in the corporate culture, but a new study shows that customers do not mind the cost of servicing the greater for companies with employees that are cool-cool. If culture can obviously raise the price and can sell, how much harm if we still see culture as something outside ourselves, something we can leave and not be a priority.
We are often linked to language and cultural symbols, but human relationships, beliefs and perceptions as cultural aspects, are often not brought to the surface. An expert, Bourdieu, suggests the importance of "state of mind" in the culture, then later translated in products such as language, artifacts, books, and more. Thus, the culture of Indonesia, not just products such as batik, crackers, and others. However, attitudes and behavior that we can sell. The corporate culture is not just reflected in the logo, interior, slogan, ritual briefing, but from the belief in the meaning and importance of attitudes and values ??behind human behavior. Things that need to be reinforced is how we respond with a situation, how we perceive an event, how we communicate in every situation, because the smile that we put our great strength and spirit. Positive habit that has shaped the culture and the power must be transmitted to our environment.

Responsibility of Spreading
Many people blamed the mass media as a source of spreading negative culture, which so easily be duplicated many people. However, let's look at a small company with no employees to 100 people, where the rules of conduct and "culture" was so clear. Everyone said, "We own the trash", "We serve tea to guests own company", and "We are waiting for a friend who was finishing his work, so he is not alone stay in office". In their work, they said, "We will fight tooth and nail until the customer is satisfied.", And "We're trying to work faster than the deadline". Although each company's employees have access to mass media, the way they work is not affected by the mass media. Attitudes and habits formed by habituation superiors, mimicking the results, custom teammate, so the overall look of positive culture in the company. Although the leaders did have an important role in creating organizational culture, but not only leaders who contribute to spread the corporate culture. All people with the role and ability to do that. Therein lies the 'beauty' it.
